The day had gradually gone from bad to worse for Noel Vermillion. It was her first day on the job, but no matter what she did, nothing seemed to work out. One mistake after another, it was like some cosmic force in the universe had it out for her. Ultimately, the day had ended with a stern lecturing from her superior officer and a verbal promise that unless she got her act together, she would be immediately discharged.
Fighting back the tears as best as she could, the moment Hei showed up at her apartment, Noel was right there at the door to greet him. Burying her face against his chest, she held him tight as she let out a soft sob.
"W-what am I going to do Hei? I-I screwed up so much today!"
